Emma Hart has always worshiped her brother's best friend from afar. On New Year's Eve Night she decides it is time to show her true feelings for the man she loves.
Christian Dane is surprised to see Emma knocking on his door late one night. When she comes in and seduces him, he finds himself falling for her. After giving him her innocence, she leaves with the promise of more. Until someone else steps in and rips all of his dreams out from under him.
It has been six years since Emma had her heart broken. Even though she is not an innocent eighteen-year-old with a crush, seeing Christian is hard. As the pull of passion throws them together, the hope of love blooms in one while the other plans to leave it as a summer fling. Can they overcome their differences and the mistakes of the past to have a loving relationship?
Playing For Keeps is a wonderful read about love that withstands many obstacles. Ms. Gray has written a powerful story of how one woman's childhood crush blossoms into full-fledged love. She shows how a man known for his love 'em and leave 'em attitude is brought to his knees. This story was full of hope yet there were times when the sadness of their past left my heart aching for them. The realities of any relationship are very present in this story, giving it a definite basis for realism. This is an outstanding read for anyone who loves a great story of finding, losing, and then finding love again.
