Veronica Jinkowsky, ‘Ronnie,’ is curious as to why her estranged grandfather lures her to New Jersey. The Boston lawyer thinks he is up to something and when it involves her ex-husband, she is certain it can only spell trouble.
Jake Jensen loves to play poker; guess you could say his life is usually a huge gamble. Take his relationship with Ronnie. Four times, married and divorced, he still has feelings for her and when he is summoned to go on a treasure hunt the love he feels is even stronger this time around.
Grandfather Frank is proprietor of his own treasure hunting business, Jinx, Inc. He decides to plan one hunt that will finally reunite Ronnie and Jake for good.
Ronnie was certain she had seen the last of Jake, but after Frank persuades her to go on a wild goose high seas adventure; Jake is right in the middle of events. Thinking she is there to help Frank with his upcoming problems, she learns it is a hunt for pink diamonds. So now, she is not only playing pirate, but also trying to keep any close contact with Jake, who has blue eyes, alone, that can melt the heart and cause the knees to turn to jelly. How can she even consider looking for a lost ship and possible lost gems when once again her heart may suffer its own theft? Now she is trapped with the man who heats fire inside her loins while keeping guard to her left and right for any unsuspecting people on their trail. Her life feels jinxed right from the start. Jake has always had ups and downs where Ronnie is concerned. They are great together, miserable apart. His love for her is still there and he’s certain this time when he takes the plunge he will not be able to release his hold. Their quest for fortune turns out to be something worth much more as the treasure hunt begins and the love in their hearts is at risk.
Pink Jinx is an absolute entertaining read. Ronnie and Jake blaze the pages making this page-turner a delight. The, on again and off again, relationship between the two, keeps the story alive and flowing consistently placing the reader in the center of the action. Sandra Hill mixes some fun and a bit of intrigue on a sexy treasure hunt that has the reader screaming for more. The dialogue is outstanding, her characters refreshing and the tension between Ronnie and Jake pure sensual. This is one adventurous exciting trip that spins with fun and more fun that never stops. The addition of Frank trying to play matchmaker was cleverly written. I liked the part about the disposable marriages. This action-packed book is filled with thrills and delights throughout and is a most satisfying read.
