Hope Adams looks like any other girl who might be working for a tabloid as a reporter, but she is far more. Hope is half Expisco Demon, and she has an appetite for chaos. She is in love with a werewolf, but feels he has pushed her away for the last time when she let him close, so she feels free to see others.

Karl a werewolf and a professional thief. He cares deeply about Hope, but he is afraid of what he feels for her, and because of this has made it a point to push her away. That is until he realizes she may be in danger, then all his hunting instincts come out and he knows he must extricate Hope as quickly as possible before something really bad happens.

When Hope is asked to spy for one of the largest Cabals, she agrees to do so thinking it will cancel her debt to Benecio, the man who is in charge. So, she goes down to Florida to infiltrate a gang of supernaturals that may be thinking about overthrowing the Cabal. But there is more going on than Hope realizes and when bodies start turning up, she knows she may be in over her head. Fortunately for her Karl arrives to assist her since he fears for her safety. He knows about her appetite for chaos and does not want to see her get sucked into it too deeply, but he may be too late, because Hope sees someone die and instead of reacting to help as a normal person might, she gets sucked into feeding off the chaos vibes of the death. Will Karl be able to help her come to terms with her demon side or will chaos rule?

Personal Demon has everything you could ever want in world building. The supernatural world in Ms. Armstrong’s books are so well described you feel as though you are right there. I also especially like the fact that her supernaturals are not sanitized versions of themselves as so many books in this genre have. She has no problem giving you the good, the bad and the ugly which makes this story very interesting. The whole idea that there could be this sort of underground world is very intriguing. All the characters in this book play a part, and each of them both primary and secondary is well fleshed out so you feel as though you know them. If you enjoy reading about the paranormal, then you must check out Personal Demon!
