Lady Maria Winter lives under the shadow of the dubious deaths of her two prior husbands. She is under the stiff control of her step-father, who causes her mother to die. He uses the safety of Maria’s sister, Amelia, against her. He vows that he will send her where Maria will never see her again if she does not acquiesce to his plans.

Christopher St. John, always at the edge of the law, finds a way to escape the punishment of his most recent arrest. He has to befriend a beautiful widow long enough to gain her trust and obtain her confession for murdering her husbands.

Maria has made it her life’s mission to find her sister. So when she is approached to help trap the notorious St. John in order to get her sister back, she has to agree. Neither Christopher nor Maria has any idea of the fire that they are about to encounter with each other.

Passion for the Game is one spicy historical romance. Not only does the author take us into the minds of the hero and heroine, but the secondary character development is exceptional as well. These are some of the most passionate characters that I have ever read. Sylvia Day has written an intriguing novel laced with feverish sensuality that will keep the pages turning in an attempt to catch your speeding pulse.
