She knows cars inside out, and can fine-tune an engine within an inch of its life, but when it comes to her femininity, Alexandra Morgan’s tank is on “E”. Being raised by a Marine father and an older brother in a service garage, girly-girl was never really an option for her.
Still single and 40 is not exactly what Detective Jack Riley envisioned, but the murder of his partner really puts him in a tailspin. He vows to put Eric’s killers behind bars, and a little undercover work racing at the Dahlia Speedway is sure to put him right smack in the middle of trouble.
Alex may be all grease monkey by day, but at night, with a steaming hot bubble bath all around her, “Fantasy Jack” comes calling. One hot night in Nashville with the sexy detective was enough to fuel her dreams for months, but nothing is as good as the real thing. Jack comes to Dahlia to avenge his partner’s murder, but when he runs into Alex “Trouble” Morgan again, his professionalism goes flying right out the window. She is a tiny little dynamo with a heart of gold, and Jack may be a bit on the older side, but she has touched his soul with a force so intense he is twenty all over again.
There is something to be said for a well-seasoned and experienced man, and does Jack ever fill that role to the hilt. He is the perfect combination of brains and brawn, but it is his heart that really makes the man. Alex is absolutely adorable, short, stacked, and sassy, and though she is vulnerable, she is never whiny or clingy with Jack. I am sure that whether you are a fan of the track or not, you will find Out Of Control is much more than a shiny cover; it has real power under the hood.
