Maeve Loman is a school teacher on a quest to locate her father. She needs to know why he abandoned her and will not give up until she has answers. When Zeke volunteers to help her, she tries to fight the attraction she feels toward him.
Zeke Halsey has desired Maeve from the moment he set eyes on her. She may not say she cares for him, but he can tell she does. He is willing to go to any measure to help aid her to find her father, no matter where their path takes them.
Maeve never wishes to experience any heartbreak like the day her father left. It was an experience that left her still stinging with hurt. She is afraid to give her heart to any man for fear he too, will walk out on her. Zeke insists upon going with Maeve as she starts her hunt for her father. He will be there for her every step of the way. With each passing day, their attraction becomes stronger. Maeve tries to fight any feelings, fearing he will one day leave just like her father. When danger threatens, Zeke wonders if he will ever have a chance with Maeve, while she wonders can she ever make a commitment to Zeke?
Outlaw in Petticoats is a splendid read. Zeke is kind-hearted and caring. I could tell how deep his love is for Maeve. Maeve does a good impression of hiding her feelings. Paty Jager creates a read with two gripping characters, and secondary players that spark drama into the storyline. She allows her audience to be carried into a journey of not only seeking a father but two people making a connection with the other. With intense character emotions, and a bit of mystery, she makes this an outstanding read.
