Hideki Sakae is a pop idol with thousands of young female fans. He knows he is attracted to men, but he has never had a relationship. However, in the strict world of Japanese pop music where what you do in your private sexual life can make or break you if it becomes public knowledge, Hideki has to walk a fine line.
Toruhiko, the leader of a Japanese rock band, is tired of casual sex. He longs to find love again. Seeing Hideki for the first time at a concert is all it takes for him to know he wants him. However, he is also very aware of the music world in Japan and how the public would view such a relationship.
When Toru meets Hideki in person for the first time, he and his band help Hideki with a song he is working on. It is not long after that when Toru makes his move, but Hideki rejects him out of fear. Desperate to be close to Hideki, Toru dresses as a woman in order to get close to him. However, when his secret is revealed they are both nearly ruined. It becomes a long and rocky road to true love as they try to come to grips with their relationship.
Orange Moon is a romance to be savored one page at a time! The angst engendered throughout the novel had me in tears of both happiness and pain for what they have to go through. The authors describe the emotions of Hideki and Toru so well that you feel as though they are real people. The descriptions of Japan and the music world are well-researched. The lovemaking scenes are scorching and emotional. All who enjoy m/m romance need to read this book!
