Tamara Hayle is just glad her son is alive and she has plenty of work lined up to keep the money rolling through the door. But when a woman from her past returns, she knows her life is going to take a nosedive if she gets involved with whatever scheme Lilah has going. She soon realizes that Lilah is not the only one looking to get Baby Dal back.

Jimson Weed Carter and Edna Sweets will do just about anything for Baby Dal. But there is something Jimson is hiding... something he does not want anyone to know. He would kill to keep Edna happy and if that meant killing everyone who has a connection with the baby, then so be it.

Tamara is doing the best she can as a single mother and a female private investigator. Though she knows no good can possibly come from helping Treyman Barnes get his grandchild back, she goes against that little nagging voice in her head and helps him. When her son ends up under investigation for the murder of Lilah, she knows that she must get to the truth to protect her son.

A very intriguing and original story. Valerie Wilson Wesley has brought her character of Tamara Hayle to life once again and for her fans, it is a wonderful addition to the series. With murder, deceit and lies raging through the story, Ms. Wesley brings us to a brilliant conclusion. The story kept me guessing with each flip of the page until the very end. I was thrilled beyond words to read this book and will be looking forward to more adventures with Tamara Hayle.
