Sophie Katz is surprised when her old friend, Melanie, contacts her and asks Sophie to try to seduce her husband. When Melanie’s husband is killed in a drive-by shooting, Sophie finds herself itching to solve the crime.

Anatoly Darinsky, a private investigator and also Sophie’s ultra hot ex-boyfriend, is hired by Melanie to assist in finding her husband’s killer. Sophie tries to ditch him at every turn, but he is relentless and always ends up at her side.

Sophie and Anatoly reluctantly work together and soon discover that the drive-by shooting was not random. Steeped in politics and weird sexual fetishes, other crimes are soon uncovered. Sophie is about to find out the hard way that not everyone is what they seem.

Obsession, Deceit and Really Dark Chocolate is one book that is very hard to put down. With one surprise after another, it was so much fun to read. The sexual tension between Sophie and Anatoly is to die for. Sophie is a real heroine that many modern women could relate to. Kyra Davis’ smart and snappy dialogue and story telling is unique and creates a splendid reading experience. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Davis, but it definitely will not be my last.
