Psychologist Kate Holly cannot get a break in her hectic life. She is being kicked out of her office space due to the unfortunate incident of a vial of nitroglycerin exploding. Being offered to share office space with her ex-boyfriend may not be such a good idea, but finding an office that fits her budget and is in a decent part of town is just too hard.
Jay Rush knows his ex-wife has a tendency to come off as a little crazy herself. Because of all of the dangerous patients she takes on, he is extremely uncomfortable with her situation. When he hears about her moving into her ex-boyfriend’s office space, he knows that Kate has definitely fallen off of her rocker.
As a firefighter, Jay is known for jumping into danger around every corner. Kate fears for his life every single time. But now she has even more reason to be concerned. An arsonist is targeting firefighters, trying to take them out one at a time. As the fires escalate to include Jay’s fire station, a new complication enters the mix in the form of a beautiful female firefighter, which only makes matters worse for Jay and Kate’s already confusing relationship.
Using a goofy doctor and zany humor, Ms. Hughes has written a hilarious story fit for any reader. From the first page to the last, Nutcase will have you laughing at the wild antics of all the characters and their trials and errors. Just reading the back cover of the book had me smiling in anticipation at the tale to be told within. I love how Kate is looked upon as a not-so-good doctor, but in reality she always gets to the heart of the matter. If you are a fan of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, look no further than this fun and flirty story that will have you begging for more.
