Detective Raven Mackenzie realizes after the yellow tape is up, crossing the line is a risk but when a homicide happens and she is called to investigate, it is part of her job. She never expected working with an enigma of a man who can be a bit incriminating.
Christian Delacorte graduated with honors and also received training in FBI SWAT. He works at Dunhill Estate as head of security. When he is called upon to aid the police with a murder, he learns he is up against a gutsy detective who likes to be very much in control.
After Raven and her partner, Tony, are called to the chapel over a slain body, they head to Dunhill Estates to speak to Fiona about one of her security men being murdered. Fiona is surprised with the events. Christian is enrolled to help Tony and Raven with the investigation. Raven has her doubts about him. He is too much of a mystery and runs a background check on him. Raven’s life has always been surrounded by law and order but the case now turns ugly. Raven finds Christian has a raw sensuality about him. She does not allow his rude behavior to intimidate her when they first meet. Christian finds her interesting but believes he may have met his match. Tony thinks Christian could be dirty and dangerous and warns Raven to be careful. No one is safe while a sadistic killer is loose, especially when someone begins stalking the detectives. As things get down to the wire, even Raven wonders where to place her trust.
No One Left To Tell is a powerful read. I love the interaction between Raven and debonair Christian. The way she swoons over his deep voice, and the cologne he wears, really makes her a believable character showing her feminine side while her gutsy side approach to her detective work, shows her strength. I think the way Jordan Dane creates the human side to these players is so well-written the reader cannot help but share in their sorrows, happiness and spine-tingling suspense. The drama with Tony and his family held me spellbound. I was on pins and needles wondering what would happen next. Ms. Dane crafts a pulse-pounding passionate and suspenseful read. Compelling, powerful, and extraordinary, this is one book this reader finds top-notch.
