Archaeologist Genny Forsythe is from the east and was educated at Harvard. She has been bullied by her family long enough and decides to go west in search of a different life. Her new job is to make sure there are no prehistoric petroglyphs in the area where Mr. McConnell wants to build a watering hole for his cattle.

Rock McConnell is a stubborn, set in his ways cowboy from Oregon. He needs to build a waterhole for his cattle but runs into a glitch that leads him to Genny. He cannot seem to get her out of his system.

Gunny and Rock cannot deny the chemistry between them. However, they are both are as set in their ways as in their thinking of the past events that have shaped both of them. As they explore their relationship, each must come to grips with their feelings for each other and let go of the past in order to move forward.

This is a simple love story about two very different people and the ways in which they conquer love and life. Never The Twain has sexy cowboys, conflict, stubborn male pride, and a strong independent woman. This story’s characters work very well together. This wonderful book captures your attention from the beginning and leaves you wanting more at the end. I enjoyed Never the Twain so much, I will be reading more of this author's work.
