Jacobin de Chastelux is the niece of a Baron but does not like the fact her uncle pawns her off in a card game. After learning of his no-good deeds, she disguises herself as a young boy and assumes the job as chef, until the tables turn.
Lord Anthony Storrington is supposed to be looking for a bride. After a new cook comes to work for him, he has no idea who the lady really is, but it makes no difference because she is someone that has secretly stolen his heart.
After hearing she has been lost in a card game, Jacobin tries to get away from her uncle. Taking on a job as a chef goes well, until one night her uncle is a guest but something goes wrong when her uncle is poisoned from one of the dishes. Fortunately, she has one thing to her advantage; they are looking for a Frenchman and not an Englishwoman. Landing another job, as a cook, she ends up working for the same man who had won her in a card game. Anthony is unaware of the identity of the beautiful chef but the moment they are together, it is hard to leave her alone. Jacobin continues to try to keep her identity a secret, but how far will Anthony go to protect her, once he learns the truth?
This enchanted tale is so rich in history, this reader could not help but be drawn into the times and events that surround the characters. I love Jacobin. She brings grit to the story. I thought the way her malicious uncle treated her was terrible. I love the chemistry between Jacobin and Anthony. Their passion beautifully unfolds in Never Resist Temptation. Miranda Neville crafts two kind souls who bring elegance to this story. With an interesting plot, well-rounded secondary characters and some surprises along the way, she skillfully pens a story that kept this reader turning the pages.
