Anabel Satterley thought that she was destined to never find love. After the disappearance of her father in Egypt she made her way alone back to England and to the home of her dearest friend in the world Marsipal.
Colonel Horatio Tallwood-Smythe the 6th Viscount of Wentworth has to find himself a bride or loose his newly inherited title. He has tried to find a girl to marry on the Ton’s marriage mart to no avail. So he has directed his solicitor to advertise a marriage of convenience.
Bella and Horatio stumble across each other on they way to visit a friend they have in common. Tempers and sparks fly from the moment they meet. Horatio used to having his word as law from his many years in the military can not quite figure out the beauty before him. She fights him at ever turn, and even lectures him on occasion. But some where in the middle of all their arguments, debates, and fighting they two of them find an unmistaken attraction to the other. But can either of them find away to let the other know their true feelings before time runs out?
What a wonderfully written tale of first chances at love. Both the main characters for their own reasons believe they will never find that one person. Bella with her self doubts and low self image struggles with the idea that someone just might be attracted to her. Horatio with all his military background has come to believe love is really nothing more then a myth. The characters are very well written and absolutely believable. This story was one of those rare tales that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end of the book. I really enjoyed reading it, and would absolutely recommend it!
