Lt. Detective Stanford Carter is head of forensics investigation. A serial killer known as the “Plunger” leaves his seventh victim which has Stanford searching for clues. For three years Stanford and his top CSI crew have looked for this maniac. Heavy pressure from the Mayor is coming down on Stanford to get this guy. In addition Stanford has feelings for the new level two CSI, Jill Seacrest.

When some copy cat murders are followed by the latest ‘Plunger murder”, the Mayor, Art Shroeder, demands answers. Unbeknownst to anyone the Mayor is being blackmailed for his affair with actress Eva Davis. The Mayor is nervous and worried for Eva because of the murders, believing she might be a target. Finally a clue is found at the last murder.

These murders where being done left and right, causing all kinds of reactions. From the police department to the CSI investigation unit, everyone is tense. Stanford is ordered to help when the FBI is called in. Although grateful for the help, Stanford does not want information leaked to the media. Everyone is unaware that the murderer is closer than they think and is out to get the main players. Can Stanford close this case before anyone else gets killed?

This is a very creative mind twister that will keep you on your toes. Just when you think you have it figured out, you are wrong and even on the wrong track. Mr. Starta did an exceptional job of keeping the drama and mystery going. Interesting characters and some important secondary characters all play a very distinct part. I love a good mystery that does not give much away, and Mr. Starta did a good job of keeping key points quiet until the very end. A very entertaining story that will give you chills.
