Rating: 4 Cups
As a protector and a healer, Meredith Craine is not a good judge of men. When an FBI Agent enters her life, forget judging men, she wants him badly.
Slade Jackson is trying to find a killer. He feels Meredith is in danger and will do everything to keep her safe.
Meredith does not appreciate a FBI agent interrogating her with questions. Slade is an FBI Special Agent with the Bradford Police Department in North Carolina trying to find the Slasher. It is rumored that Meredith’s husband, Jake, was the Slasher and that she killed him. Slade doubts Meredith is a killer. Meredith informs him that she is a vampire, and so was Jake. She has a feeling if Slade goes digging and exposes Jake as a vampire, then the slayers will come to kill all the vampires. There is no way Slade can tell others; the station would laugh him to scorn if he announced he found a vampire and the Slasher was one, too. Meredith believes Jake is really dead and not the killer in North Carolina killing red-headed women, it has to be a copycat but Slade has his doubts. As Meredith and Slade grow closer, their attraction for one another intensifies, making her wonder could he ever love a vampire.
Mountain Rendezvous is a spectacular read. I love the interaction with Meredith and Slade. The reader can almost understand what Meredith is going through, as she tries to push any feelings aside for Slade because of the way men have treated her. Once they connect, it is a powerhouse. Michelle Hasker has penned a great story that keeps the reader entertained while guessing about the turn of events with the Slasher. She makes her characters come alive and writes engaging stories that make this reader want more.
