Ianna James has lost too many people close to her. With the latest bout of death seemingly following her, she needs a vacation. She slips away back to her childhood home and there learns more about herself than she expected.

Sian manages Haven, a bar in lowtown. When Ianna comes looking for a job, he gives her one and soon comes to the conclusion that he cannot live happily without her. But can he save her before it is too late?

Ianna has told no one except her manager and best friend where she has gone. Still she leaves him little knowledge of where she is staying. Sian keeps his distance from her, but still manages to insinuate himself firmly in her life. After a night of lovemaking, she tells him her story and knows she is the one for him. When another death occurs, Ianna tells Sian she will leave, but he will not allow that to happen. Can he save her from the one person she trusted the most?

Music and heartbreak follow Ianna throughout the story. I found that even though the characters have been dealt a bad hand in life, they are strong enough to overcome. Going back to our roots may not be an easy thing to do, but sometimes it must be done. Ms. Russell shows a knack for writing with true feeling and lots of heart. This is a story for anyone who has gone through loss and needs a way to release the pain. An excellent book and I will be recommending this one to friends.
