Heather Warren is a widow with twin seven year-old daughters. She is also a plus size model. She hopes to earn a contract with Devereaux Designs so that she can travel less and spend more time with her girls.
DJ Devereaux is the odd one out with his family. They are a boisterous bunch and he is the quiet one of the group. A financial planner, he is also the only one who does not work in the family business.
DJ is strongly attracted to the new spokesmodel for his family’s new plus-size line. This attraction grows as he gets to know Heather, but he is uneasy at the prospect of becoming a father to her twins. His father’s example worries him. Dean is a perfectionist who makes his children’s lives difficult and DJ worries about doing the same to the two little girls he has grown to love almost as much as their mother.
This is a very enjoyable and fast reading romance. Heather and DJ are very charismatic characters with a strong attraction for each other. Heather has been raising two daughters since her husband died and has had no time for a love life. DJ is at that point in his life where he wants to find someone special, but his someone comes with a family. He is a little immature in his method of handling it at times, but that is realistic. The plot is very well written, no great dramas, just real life, but the author writes it in a way that holds the reader’s attention. The other characters are also vividly drawn, particularly the twins, who are very different from each other. Heather and DJ’s love scenes are tasteful and sensual, but my favorite part is Joy’s lecture to her son near the end.
