Rita Eddington and her twelve-year-old daughter Miranda were seen entering Travis Eddington’s house; shots were fired and Travis was killed. A witness said they did not see who fired the gun and Miranda become catatonic; leaving Rita charged with the shooting.
Doug McKenzie is a young lawyer and wants to work on a case with the legendary criminal defense attorney, Dan Morgan. With Morgan working on Rita’s defense, Doug gets his chance. Doug does most of the research, and Dan tries his way at rearranging things to his advantage.
Suspense mounts as Rita’s trial proceeds with some in her corner willing to do anything to get her acquitted; even trying to prove that Miranda, with her history of mental problems, killed Travis. Only the person who shot the gun will know what happened when the shots rang out, but will they be charged with the crime?
A very good read. Missing Witness has all the elements of a great legal thriller. Suspense, motive and murder with a great cast of characters are all you need to get a charge out of Mr. Campbell’s newest addition to the booklovers world. Enjoy it yourself.
