Taylor Chase is an Air Force Special Agent assigned to rescue a scientist from a billionaire recluse's private island. But when her superiors tell her they want Dr. Mark Wolfson involved, she has issues because of her past relationship with him.

Mark Wolfson is a professor at Princeton and a leader in the field of psychic research. When Taylor appears at his home after eight years and asks him to join the mission, he at first says no. But when he meets with her the next day, he knows he cannot let her do this without his help.

Taylor and Mark manage to scuttle their boat off of the island, but they were not expecting a welcoming committee carrying automatic weapons. When they are allowed on the island and meet the owner and his wife, they both believe something is not right. Mark and Taylor still share a telepathic bond and soon realize that using that bond may be the only way they will survive. But the passion they still feel for each other could make one or both of them take chances that endanger both their lives.

I found this book to be suspenseful and exciting. Ms. Lovelace gives her characters splendid personalities mixed with a sense of humor that will have you laughing. The addition of the dog Tikal was a very nice touch and added to the paranormal aspect of the story. Ms. Lovelace knows her subject matter well, which makes for a believable story. This is a good read and I will be picking up more of Ms. Lovelace's books.
