Holt McKettrick is about to be married when he receives an urgent telegram. Holt knows he has to go to Texas immediately, but his twelve-year-old daughter Lizzie is very upset with him for cancelling the wedding.

Lorelei Fellows finds her fiancé in bed with a maid on the eve of her wedding. Furious, she burns her wedding dress in the town square. Lorelei’s father will never forgive her for cancelling the wedding; he has always wished she had been the one to die and not her older brother. Lorelei discovers her mother left her some property and tells her father she is moving into the house her mother grew up in.

When Holt comes across Lorelei burning her wedding dress, he knows she is a force to be reckoned with. He feels instant attraction, but vows never to settle down with one woman. Holt’s brother wonders if Holt will ever admit to his attraction for Lorelei. Against his better judgement, Holt allows Lorelei to go on a cattle drive with him where there are many dangers. Will Holt and Lorelei remain safe? Can they survive a bloody Indian attack? When they finally come together, will they admit their feelings for one another?

McKettrick’s Choice is the continuing saga of the McKettrick brothers. Ms Miller has written another wonderful story that will make you feel like you are living in the Wild West. McKettrick’s Choice has a little of everything hot, scorching sex, action, and the banter between Holt and Lorelei will have you laughing out loud. Both are stubborn as mules. One minute you will be laughing and the next you want to cry. It shows you that even a tough cowboy has a tender side. This is a western story at its finest. I could not put it down.
