Pirate of Mystique Island
Lord Rafe Herrington is determined to end the curse once and for all. Living half his life as a sea serpent, and the other half as a pirate must come to an end. He longs for his home and his life back.
Melodie wants nothing more than to belong. She wishes to end the cycle of mermaid to human and back again, never seeming to belong in either world. Living full time as a mermaid is a dream only the witch Busara can fulfill.
Melodie must stop Lord Herrington before he breaches the secret passage of the island, and kills her beloved friend Busara. Only Busara is capable of keeping the island's secrets safe, and curing her of her human form. Rafe sets out on his course determined to end his suffering, but encountering a beautiful siren changes his plans. Melodie finds herself under the spell of seduction in Rafe’s arms, when it should be the other way around. Rafe and Melodie are now caught in a tidal wave of longing and despair. Neither is aware of the other’s secret, and both want to change their very existence.
Myla Jackson weaves a spell of mystery and romance in Pirate of Mystique Island. Her characters are entertaining, and their story a pleasurable read.
His wedding day finally arrived and Garet the Protector could not be happier. Unfortunately his was a very short marriage, and now centuries later, he still haunts his castle in despair.
The Nordic National Historical Trust has sent Truda Borg to Wybjorn Castle to inventory its wonderful antiquities. She is ecstatic to finally be allowed free access to the home of one of her ancestors, Reidun of the Dale, wife of the great Garet.
Truda can feel the presence of a spirit almost as soon as she enters the castle. She has always been receptive to ghostly beings, but never to this extent. She can not only feel him, but if she looks closely enough, he can almost be seen. Truda believes the ghost to be Garet, and tries repeatedly to summon his appearance. She knows the legends of his life and his marriage, and has secretly longed for him to be her knight in shining armor. The closer Garet gets to Truda, the more real he becomes, a sensation he has not felt in centuries. The only problem is that as he is enlivened by her warmth, she is slowly being drained to the point of exhaustion. She will give him anything, but he will not allow her that risk.
Garet is Truda’s fantasy come to life, and this is a truly romantic fairy tale. The modern day woman and the 17th century warrior are a clever match-up, and make for a fascinating story.
As a 3000-year-old Egyptian woman, Jamila Aten is in her own living hell. She loved a man belonging to another, and she has paid the price dearly. Unquenchable lust, never-ending life, and no hope to ever love again are her curse.
Detective David Craise is nearing the point of exhaustion, but the cases never stop coming. A warm body and a good night’s sleep sound like heaven, but given his single status and his job, neither are attainable.
When Jamila finds out that David is a cop, she should stop, but with the curse overpowering her judgment, she is too far gone. After the debacle with Aaron, her lust is all-consuming and she finds David to be more than an acceptable substitute. David should know better, but when Jamila offers herself to him, all rational thinking goes right out the window. A few minutes of unadulterated passion and she is gone, but the memory is not one he will ever forget. His next case quickly lands in his lap, and within days he finds himself face to face with his mystery woman. Only this time she could be a murder suspect, and that thought makes his heart stand still.
This is undeniably my favorite story in this book. The characters are captivating, the plot mysterious and well developed, and the love scenes sizzling hot. A definite must read.
Each story in this book offers up its own brand of masterful desires. The authors are all extremely talented, and support both their plots and their characters with well thought out story lines. I thoroughly enjoy characters that have strong male and female counterparts, and each of these stories delivers. The love scenes as well are sumptuous and very well done. Need to add a little heat to your life? This is certainly a good choice.
