Robyn Kelly is the manager of Patient Relations Department at the Madrona Bay Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle. A horrible pile-up on the interstate sends a lot of patients to Madrona Bay, including Congressman Jake Hamilton. When an ex-love shows up at the hospital along with the news crews, Robyn’s life begins to spin out of control.
Detective Matthew Pierce is called in to help maintain order at the hospital. It is a good thing he is there, because tragedy is about to strike, and Robyn is at the heart of it. His expertise may just save her.
Robyn is thrown into the midst of the incoming patients. Tagging them with the appropriate color tags ensures the patient will get the proper care. A man is hollering for medications, which Robyn is not allowed to hand out. That man is Jake Hamilton. The Congressman files a complaint against Robyn that is not altogether true. When Robyn goes to visit the Congressman in hopes of straightening out the problem, she finds the man dead...in a guarded room.
This is a gripping tale of murder and mystery. Throw in the fact that this is a Congressman, and you can add chaos to the midst. What a well-spun story! I loved reading about some of the insider views on hospital procedures. Once I began this book, I was not able to put it down until I finished. There are twists and turns that you might not expect, but they all straighten out at the end. Ms. Osborne puts the reader right in the middle of the drama and keeps you there as you try to figure out who the murderer could be.
