Kayla Morgan longs to make it as a full-time writer, and works in a café while she waits
for the opportunity to hit the big time. When a famous writer is in a serious accident
which prevents her from completing her latest book, Kayla gets her first big break when
the author’s agent asks her to do so. However, there is one catch: the book has a
ménage a trois in it, and since the author never writes about what she has not personally
experienced, Kayla must have the experience in order to get the job.
Shawn MacKay is Kayla’s neighbor, and her secret fantasy. On the rebound from a
soured relationship and seriously reconsidering his taste in women, he notices Kayla for
the first time as something other than his neighbor.
When Shawn works up the courage to ask Kayla out, they each discover a powerful
mutual attraction. Things heat up quickly, and Kayla finds she must make a choice:
either be with Shawn and give up the idea of ghostwriting the book, or give him up and
write the book. Unwilling to give up the chance to have a relationship with Shawn, she
tells him of her project and what she has to do to complete it. Instead of agreeing with
her she should not do the project Shawn blows her away by suggesting instead that he
and his brother Ryan give her the experiences she needs.
This book was a beautiful and wonderfully moving story. The love between the three is
expressed in a richly emotional way. Unlike many such stories I’ve read, this one was
about the love, and the relationship, not just the sex. An extremely enjoyable read, and I
look forward to reading many more such stories from Sedonia Guillone.
