Zoe is the Goddess of Beauty and one of the Twelve Muses. She thinks that she has been doing her job, but Daddy Zeus does not and is sending her to Earth to spread Beauty. She is a little uneasy.

Theo Maragos is a computer genius, but fashion challenged. He is also the son of Nike, Goddess of Victory. He is being profiled by a magazine and needs styling help, fast.

The Goddess of Beauty is sent to Earth to prove herself and finds the perfect subject in Theo and his warehouse like apartment. Zeus has given her one other directive, “Do not fall in love with a mortal”, and she is about to fail miserably.

I really enjoyed this lighthearted and funny romance. The thought of the Greek gods existing and trying to fit in in the twenty-first century leads to all sorts of interesting ideas and the author makes the best of the situation. I liked Zoe’s volunteer work at Suited for Change, and her job as a window dresser; both suit her goddess persona beautifully. Her romance with Theo as she transforms him was enjoyable, and his being the son of a goddess adds to the fun. I also like the subplot of Chad and Elise’s love story; it is almost as bumbling as Theo and Zoe’s. The setting of New York is perfect for the story and the dialogue and plot are very well written. The other characters in the book are vivid, particularly the inhabitants of Olympus. I particularly like the portrayal of Zeus as an overbearing windbag and Hermes and his disrespectful nicknames for him. The references to the other sisters mean that I have two more books to find and read. I definitely recommend this one; it is a funny and sweet love story.
