Grace Sheffey, Countess of Sheffield, feels she can no longer mingle with members of the Duchess of Helston’s friends. After being jilted again, she wishes to give up on love. She would like to go to the Isle of Mann, even though it is not safe for a lady.
Michael Rainier has just inherited the property of Brynlow from his childhood friend. While searching out the area, he is surprised to come upon a beautiful lass with a slight head injury, one that leaves a burning fire inside his heart.

After another failed engagement, Grace has had enough with trying to find love and wishes to flee Cornwall and London. As much as she would love to go to the Isle of Mann, she is warned it is too dangerous. When an afternoon jaunt leaves Grace with a hurt head after hitting a lamp post, Michael finds her and takes her to shelter. The two swap conversation as sparks slowly ignite. Grace is thankful that Michael comes to her rescue. When she returns home, Michael is still in her memory, as well as she in his. As a blacksmith, a farmer, and a fugitive, he realizes he could never have a relationship with a countess, especially when he carries too many dark secrets that could keep them apart.

I thoroughly enjoyed Love with the Perfect Scoundrel. Grace and Michael come from different worlds, but inside, they have a heart of gold. It is strong enough to bring them together even though others would wish to keep them separated. While they fight the barriers that continue to mount in their way, each strongly display an emotional side that transcended to this reader. I was deeply moved by the performances of Grace and Michael. Sophia Nash does an incredible job of not only sketching an unforgettable couple that comes alive in the pages, but fashions a memorable background with secondary characters that blend in well to offset a very impressive read.
