Math professor, Sam Champion, returns home to sell his grandparent’s home but he never expected it to take longer than planned.
Lily Madison is busy with her business, ‘Inner Radiance’ as well as other little jobs in the town of Browning. She is glad to have Sam around.
Sam hoped to be in Browning, no longer than a week, just enough time to settle matters. When he finds the note to go and pick up his key, no sooner than he enters the business of Inner Radiance, a heavy bottle of lotion lands on his head. He knew he had not entered any man’s store. Lily did not mean to cause the lotion to give him a blow to the head. Sparks fly after they make introductions and when he learns she is the Mayor and Utilities Commissioner, and his neighbor, he is stunned. Lily hopes that Sam will stay and not sell the Thornbury House. She wants to see the town grow, finds Sam a handsome man and likes him as her neighbor. When tragedy strikes and Lily moves in with Sam for a while, one can only wonder did destiny draw them together.
Love in a Small Town is one of those lighthearted sweet romances that allow the reader to get to know the characters so much they find a way into your heart. Lily is very refreshing and Sam is the charming, irresistible neighbor that one wants to stay around forever. I enjoyed the banter between the two as they squabbled over their differences. Ms Schuler pens a well-written story with concrete characters that start out as friends and find something much stronger between the two of them. Cleverly fashioned and molded to make one excellent read of two people finding love and keeping it fresh always.
