Imogen Mowbray is a divorce’ in 1789 England, and shunned by polite society. Or so she thinks until she meets with her now good friend Georgianna. George is carefully reintroducing the now infamous Imogen back into London’s Ton. George has her sites set on setting Imogen up with Gabriel Angelstone.
Gabriel Angelstone is one of London’s most infamous rakes. He is a self- proclaimed bachelor and has no plans of ever changing that. He is not even allowed to grace the halls of Almacks any more. He is visiting his good friend George when he mistakenly takes Imogen for his friend. With an instant attraction to Imogen Gabriel sets his sights on making her his.
Imogen is doing her best to be discrete and stay out of the public eye. She is tired of the gossip associated with her name, and all she wantes is a quiet life with no more scandal. But how can she keep the gossip at bay if Gabriel will not let her be. The problem is the more he tempts her the more she wants what he is offering. The two of them start a love affair that will set the entire city of London on fire. But will this all consuming passion be the end of them both, or can they find a way to be together and save both their reputations?
Imogen and Gabriel’s passion sets the pages of this book on fire. I could not keep from wishing I was the person Gabriel wanted. This is absolutely a book worth reading. I loved the budding passion that grew between these two characters. The world that Kalen Hughes created is absolutely wonderful. You find yourself pulled into a world of pleasure and English high society. If you love historical romances you will absolutely love this book.
