Natalie Goodwin is in her forties, divorced, and her daughter has gone off to college.
Now she is free to pursue her dreams of owning a flower shop. If only she had someone
to share her new life with, things would be perfect.

Fireman, Tony Cruz, is content with his life as a husband and stepfather to a little girl he
dotes on; but, sometimes he feels something is missing.  When he suddenly finds
himself alone, he turns to the woman who caught his eye from the first time he met her.

Natalie Goodwin has decided not to worry about finding a man.  In spite of this; she
finds the tall, dark, and deliciously handsome firefighter across the street very attractive.
Who would not?  However, he is married and much too young for her. When Tony and
his wife separate, Natalie offers him friendship and understanding. When Tony wants
more, she has to decide if she should take another chance on love.

The romance between the hero and heroine is sweet and heartwarming in the extreme.
Tony is adorable, honest, and of course, delectably handsome. Natalie is realistically
portrayed as the older woman with the issues that come with that part of life.  The
secondary characters help to make this book a winner to me as well. What makes this
story special is the underlying theme of second chances, at love being once in a lifetime
chances, too. I am a long time fan of Ms. Holm; and with Leaving Normal, she delivers
yet again.
