She returns home after her confrontation with Mason and feels that something is not right. Simmons, the rogue werewolf Mason and Jeremy are hunting, attacks her and she is saved by Mason. After she runs and her best friends business is ransacked by Simmons, Torry agrees to go with Mason to his home. As the days pass, Mason realizes Torry's life is still in danger and will do anything to protect her. But will he realize that he loves her and tell her before it is too late?

This wonderful story is action packed. Ms. Byrd certainly knows her Alpha males and they come through often very loudly and very clearly. I found even though Torry had her fears, she was strong when she needed to be and brought out a side of Mason that made him almost perfect. This is a new twist on werewolves as we know them. The excitement and thrills this book holds will stay with me for a very long time. This is the first in the Blood Runners series and I for one, cannot wait to sink my teeth into the next two books.
