LADY IONA’S REBELLION
Rating: 4 Cups
At twenty-three, Lady Iona Newbury is practically a spinster, according to her father, who decides she should marry. She wishes her independence and to sculpt. She turns to Lord Wynter, a notorious rake for help.
Lord Nathan Wynter seeks reform. Known for a bad reputation and catastrophic associations with his family, having Lady Iona as his wife, would favor his relationships.
Iona cannot believe her father. She wants to live her life her way and knows Lord Nathan can help. She is aware of his corrupt deeds. Two seasons ago, when every lady was in love with him, she was happy calling him her friend until he turned into an untrustworthy mongrel. Lord Nathan has a reputation with ladies, one that has even seen his name in scandals with a most debauched reputation. He realizes there is nothing that can be done to redeem himself from his last fall from grace, until he receives a letter from his father. Nathan has one choice for redemption. Iona was once a good friend. He needs her now more than ever but this time for a wife. Both are on a conquest where stakes run high especially when love is involved.
Lady Iona’s Rebellion took me by storm. Not only is the writing grand, but the whole premise of the storyline is beautifully created. Iona is sassy and bright and I loved how she stands her ground for her independence. A hot-blooded Nathan and a desirable Iona, wow, this story sizzles with excitement, passion and the natural interference of families. Dorothy McFalls develops an intriguing read where characters linger long after the story ends. The well-sculptured secondary characters definitely put a spin on the story. This is one tantalizing read that is truly extraordinary in a most satisfying way.
