Winifred “Moxie” Hamilton does not know all the trouble she is in when she jumps in the back of Benjamin Kincaid’s car and kidnaps him. All Moxie is trying to do is get to the train station so she can catch a train to Chicago and be with her fiancé Vic. Trouble seems to find Moxie, and soon she finds herself depending on the very man she kidnapped.

Benjamin Kincaid cannot believe the luck he is having. He is a BOI agent for the government and just when he thinks his luck is running out and he is going to loose his job, the biggest break of his life falls into his hands. But things in life do not always work out the way we plan.

Moxie and Ben start a road trip from St. Augustine, Florida to Chicago, Illinois. At first they are both using each other to get what the other needs. But the more time they spend together the more the attraction between them grows. With a lot of misadventures and just plain bad luck, Moxie and Ben stumble their way into each other's hearts. But can these two find enough trust and good luck to end up together in the end?

It Takes Moxie is a cute story of two people falling in love when nothing else seems to be going right for either of them. The characters of Ben and Moxie are well written and as a reader you cannot help liking them. This story was a bit too cutsie for my taste which is why it received a three cup rating, but over all it is really well written and not hard to get into as a reader. If you like a fun historical with a little danger and romance thrown in this is the book for you.
