Wyatt Caldwell is a bit of an enigma to the Garners. The head of the foundation that funds their research, he’s become fairly close to them but he always maintains an air of secrecy. His motives become suspect when he puts them into the path of the super wealthy and quirky Liam and Viola Prentice. The Prentices are former archaeologists themselves who quit the career they loved after a series of suspiciously tragic events 30 yrs ago.

The instincts that serve Sebastian and Lauren so well in the field are telling them something is just not right with this polished duo. When strange and frightening things begin to occur to Lauren, Sebastian suspects their benefactors are behind it, and is also no longer convinced of Wyatt’s good intentions. Then the Prentices invite the Garner and Wyatt along on the expedition of a lifetime. But danger lurks in the jungle and, for the Garners; their love may be their survival.

Into the Lair has a lot of fine elements working together to create a mysterious erotic love story that draws the reader in. I wanted to know who these people were and couldn’t wait to find out what the Big Secret was. The love scenes were well written. However, even for this genre, their frequency was a big over the top for me. I felt it stalled the action too often. But the references to ancient culture and the paranormal elements made it a fun read all the same. I am eager to see more from Caitlyn Willows and look forward to many entertaining reads.
