Evie Holloway is tired of being under her family’s political shadow. They never stop bugging her for things that they need. She’s trying to start her life over after the divorce and wants to focus on her possible business as well as her children. Yet she kept fighting with herself as well as her family and wonders if her dreams will ever become reality.

Eriff “REEF,” is a half robot half human assassin captured as a child. He is unable to remember anything before he was mind swiped. He no longer has the desire to live but his fate seems to be already decided for him.

Evie’s political family calls for help to stow away an assassin, one that went after a member of her family, so she reluctantly says she will keep him for 10 days never thinking that the family would agree. When he shows up at her door, she needs a bodyguard to keep her safe. Her chocolate business is mistaken for a front used by the mob. Not only does REEF have to hold them off, but also his former boss wants him back to rebuild him. Yet REEF is starting to feel emotions and Evie is so lonely, she begins to wonder if 10 days are too long.

Ms. Grant shows that love has no boundaries at all. Evie and Eriff may have started out with lust for each other but it slowly turns into a love that is out of this world. I appreciated how Evie finally learned to stand up for herself. Although Eriff had the most difficult time on his journey, he worked at it. Two independent people falling in love is fun! I enjoyed this story a lot and found myself falling in love along with them.
