HOW ABOUT TOMORROW
The Wild Rose Press
Rating: 3 Cups
Jack lost his wife to cancer. Five years later his teenage daughter, Stacy, believes it is time to step out and mingle.
Maria, a single mom, is busy raising her children. After one dinner engagement with Jack she hopes there are more to follow.
After five years, Jack still misses his wife, especially when he looks at his daughter Stacy and sees the resemblance that he misses. Now Stacy has planned for him to go on a date. Jack greets Maria and as they share a mixture of conversation, he wonders how Maria feels about the date but the more they converse, they seem to be drawn to the other. It had been a long time since he danced or had a good conversation with a woman. Even though Maria seems a bit shy herself the two begin to enjoy each other’s company as they learn about the other and how to cope with raising children as single parents. The two begin to feel something inside them that feels right, and hope they can share more days together.
How About Tomorrow is a sweet beginning for two people trying to make a new start in life. This reader could feel the anticipation that Jack and Maria felt as they tried to make their dinner date go well. Jenna Bayley-Burke spins a good story with believable characters and events showing that love can happen the second time around with just a bit of persuasion, even if it comes from within the children. She pens a delightful read.
