Taylor Kincaid is a master jewel thief who has not yet been caught, but she is about to meet her match, in more ways than one, when her last take yields more than diamonds.
Agent Huntington ‘Hunt’ St. John is desperate to catch Taylor. The problem is, he cannot decide which he wants to get his hands on more, the jewels or the woman.
Taylor lives her life on the edge of danger and loves it, until her latest jewel heist lands her in jail and smack in the sites of Hunt St. John, T-FLAC operative. He has been looking for her for a long time, planning to get her to pull off the very job she just finished. Now that she has, he wants what she has stolen, but Taylor has not gotten this far by being easy to pin down. When he takes her into custody, she turns the tables on him, leaving him behind, or so she thinks. However, Hunt does not give up easily, especially when the stakes are so high. Soon enough, he has her pinned down again, and this time he will not let her get away until he has everything he wants from her. The problem is, by now neither of them knows just what that is. Could it be the diamonds and the discs that were in the safe she cracked, or is it the heat these two generate each time they get in the same room with each other?
Hot Ice is a fast-paced roller-coaster ride of a read that kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last. Packed with equal parts action and intrigue, not to mention red-hot romance, this is a wonderful story that appeals on all levels. The heroine and the hero are at odds with themselves and each other from page one, trying to resist their mutual attraction. The big payoff is all the more enjoyable when they do finally give in. My favorite part, however, was the seven levels of hell that led to the climatic ending of the book. In some scenes, it reads almost like one of my favorite video games. Ms. Adair writes romantic suspense in the best sense of both those words. Pick this book up; it will leave you breathless.
