Gina Aames, erotic romance writer and part-time adventuress, is at a remote cabin in Colorado writing a novella. Getting over laryngitis, Gina cannot get into this story, and is stumped. She wishes she were somewhere else since her muse seems to have left, and would rather fantasize about her friend Irish.

Ryan “Irish” Ahern, agent for the SIA, Special Investigations Agency, stumbles to the cabin where Gina is staying. Injured and needing help, he is on a mission and has been running for safety. The problem is, he has partial amnesia and does not remember her.

Ryan comes across Gina on a mission for the SIA; he must get himself and her to safety. A creature from another realm is after them, and it is his mission to help capture or contain it. Unfortunately, this is not something you can just shoot to kill. It comes from another time and place, and the only way to escape is into that realm, thru a door hidden in the cabin.

This erotic thriller had enough action for me to enjoy; from the secret agency and the paranormal, to the steamy sex scenes. Gina has known Ryan since college; he saved her from a bully and is now a trusted friend. This is about best friends who always avoided each other romantically until Ryan and his amnesia seemed to bring their true feelings into play, in bed and out. It is a fast paced book. I enjoyed the good blend of adventure and hot romance. This was the first of the SIA books for me, but I had no problem following it. I am sure that those that do read this series will find it a definite must read.
