Molly Schlofeld is finally fitting into her new identity. The last five years have been hard but she is stronger because of it. She knows that security is fleeting and love is just a dream for someone like her.
Doctor David Westfield is tired of feeling like a failure. His work with troubled young girls does not always have a happy ending and his social life is practically non-existent. He just cannot let himself be hurt again it almost killed him the first time.
Molly’s life depends upon keeping her true identity a secret. Being in the witness protection program makes it virtually impossible to have lasting relationships. She meets Dave and her first instinct is to run, but something about him calls to her. He has his own demons and they are huge. The tragedy that took his son and his marriage keeps him from allowing anyone too close, but he is powerless to stop the feelings he has for Molly. He knows that she is keeping something secret but so is he. Molly’s past is catching up to her and Dave finally realizes that regardless of his deformities he cannot let her go if she will have him.
This story is wonderfully gripping and heart breaking. Molly is kind and generous with a heart of gold. She never makes Dave feel like less of a man and forces him to see that for himself. Dave tries to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. He cares so deeply for his patients it consumes his life. He finally allows himself to love again and in doing so gives Molly the self-confidence that was torn from her years ago. Their personal tragedies make Dave and Molly find a love with each other that is as healing as it is passionate. The characters are fantastic and the storyline flows so perfectly it really keeps you on the edge of your seat!
