Melody Irina Flynn is an aspiring costume designer. She lives in a small apartment in New York City in 2007, and her apartment seems to be haunted. She lives alone with her dog Lucy, and wakes up every night at around 2 in the morning to find lights on, and her living room window wide open.

Briley Macintyre is a stage hand for the thirteenth addition of the Ziegfeld Follies in 1919. He was a medic for the army in World War I. He meets Melody Flynn when she finds her self waking up in the New Amsterdam Theater’s dressing rooms. Briley thinks she is a spy for a tabloid paper.

Melody wakes up to find herself in New York circa 1919. She has some how traveled back in time to help figure out the kidnapping of Ziegfeld follies girls. She and Briley end up having to hunt down and find their friend who has ended up being one of the latest victims of the kidnappers. Along the way Melody and Briley find they are finding out more then just who is kidnapping girls, they are also finding out they have feelings for each other. But how can two people from different times find a way to be together when they are not sure when or if Melody will end up back in her own time.

You find yourself falling through time with Melody in this story of mystery, time travel, and love. The story of Briley and Melody really pulls at your heart strings, and you can not help but hold you breath in hopes that they will find away to be together even though time may separate them. This story is way more then just the historical romance it is being labeled. It is a wonderful story that has a little bit of everything for anyone who loves to read romance.
