Esther Conway is hoping to write a book based on her ancestor, Margaret Marsden, who wrote Gothic novels. She travels to the home of the Hays to complete research for her book. The Hays have an extensive collection of the author’s possessions.
Prince Drago of Costanzo is the villain of Margaret Marden’s lost and unpublished book, “The Prince of Costanzo.” He cannot forget the woman who appeared to him ten years ago and disappeared just as quickly.
While Esther is reading “The Prince of Costanzo”, she falls into a deep sleep and dreams of Costanzo and Prince Drago. Prince Drago is devastatingly handsome, but is also known to be an evil sorcerer. However, the more time that Esther spends with him, the more she finds that he is not like the character that her ancestor wrote. The two are inexplicably drawn to each other and must discover the real villain of the novel and win the throne for the good of the people of Costanzo.
Gothic Dragon is a dream read. The characters are fantastic. Prince Drago is the appropriate bad boy hero and the villains are deliciously evil. The magical aspect between the book and reality is fun and original. Sensuous love scenes enhance the spell that this novel will cast upon the reader. Ms. Treanor’s newest novel is a delightful escape from reality.
