Elgar is a goblin that feels he just never fit in and will never find a mate just for him, so he left his home in the Grimfer Mountains to forge a new life on his own. He manages to build a burrow and sell his wares. Surprisingly, he finds himself a bride.
For the third time, Isabella is running from a man her father wants her to marry. This time she stumbles upon Eglar and begs him to help her. He not only helps her this time, but also two more times when she is faced with marrying a man her father has chosen for her. As the goblin helps her, she finds herself attracted to him.
As Elgar helps Isabella get rid of the bridegrooms her father keeps bringing, he starts to have feelings for her and suffers from fevers and dreams of her. But they both believe love between a goblin and a human must be wrong. And what is the secret Isabella’s father has that can change things?
This is a cute little story. I am not sure to keep the smile on my face or shake my head. Goblin’s Bride has to be one of the quirkiest stories I have read of late. In trying to picture this story, all I could think of was Shrek and Fiona. If you want a good chuckle for the day, you will want to pick this one up.
