Lannie Durant is a mystery/suspense writer who is trying to outrun her abusive ex-husband. When her car dies just outside of Grinnell, Iowa, she finds herself spinning her wheels in the small Midwest town. While there, she finds a beautiful Victorian home and decides to buy it, little knowing of the occupant already housed there.
Remy Devereux is a ghost still living in his home. He has been waiting for someone to come and ease his loneliness, and he knows the first time he sees Lannie that she is the one.
When Lannie meets Remy for the first time in a sizzling erotic dream, she thinks she is just dreaming, until she sees Remy’s reflection in her bathroom mirror. Their lovemaking is tender and scorching, and it is not long before this unlikely pair is heart bonded. However, Lannie’s ex-husband is not far behind, and he has every intention of making her pay for his ruin which he perceives to be her fault. Only time will tell if Lannie and Remy’s love is strong enough to survive against the odds.
Ghost Wind just went to the top of my list of favorite romances with a ghost! The love scenes are hot enough to peel paint from your walls. I absolutely adored how well Remy takes care of Lannie both physically and emotionally, and the fact that it is obvious from the get-go that he is exactly what she needs. Lannie has a determined-to-get-on-with-her-life gusto that I simply could not get enough of. Unlike some ghost romances where there can be a sinister element when it pertains to the ghost, Remy is a wonderful, likeable man who any woman would die to call her own, dead or not. I eagerly await the next book from Ms. Boyett-Compo’s illustrious pen, as she never disappoints!
