GETTING IT RIGHT
Rating: 3 Cups
Portia Juliet James, PJ to her friends and family, has a new tenant. He is the hottest man she has ever seen, but he is gay or so her brother says.
Sebastian St. John could kill his friend Rome for the cover story he told his sister. But maybe Rome is trying to protect his sister in more than one way because Sebastian is having a hard time keeping his hands to himself.
Sebastian has been sent by his friend Rome to protect his sister PJ from the backlash from his investigation into a Japanese mob. Sebastian is playing a gay man working as the door man for the gay nightclub across from PJ’s bookstore. His attraction to PJ is all the more difficult because he knows she feels the same way. His ultimate fear is that the distraction of his feelings will blind him to the danger.
Jane Kent has written a lovely story of what happens when good intentions go wrong. Sebastian is a vividly handsome character that has the heart of gold to go with his Adonis physique and heart-stopping face. The book hints at a relationship between PJ’s brother and her best friend, and I was left wondering if that relationship would develop. The ending is rather anti-climatic and not as suspenseful as I expected, but the romance in the story is wonderful and realistic.
