Contemporary Romance Short Story
Rating: 3 Cups
Eden is a newly living with her love and insecure about the future of her relationship. Searching for validation, she dresses up for a girls night out, hoping her boyfriend will ask her to stay home.
Michael is Eden’s boyfriend, willing to give her freedom. He's secure in their arrangement and wants her to have a good time, whether she stays in or goes out.
Eden finds that a night out with the girls is nothing compared to what she has at home. When she returns, she decides to wake Michael in the best way possible, and get some answers about where their relationship is headed.
Found is a touching tale of a woman who realizes she no longer needs to go out into the world to find what she needs; he has been waiting at home for her all along. This is an insightful story exploring the boundaries of trust and love. The journey of the characters toward acceptance gives this short story real substance. This is one of the times I wish for half cups; I would have added one here. This is not my usual choice of stories, but I really enjoyed this engaging story.
