Emily Kagan is helping her brother Randy with a school psyche project, in a cemetery of all places. After running into a handsome man with a European accent, she believes Randy set her up on a blind date.
Malcolm Blackmon finds his life in a changed mode after learning he is a vampire, once a crime scene goes awry. Now with a new family, he is on the prowl for some criminal low-life in New Orleans, but finding Emily was a bonus.
Emily is surprised to run into such a handsome specimen in the cemetery. When he lightly bites her neck, she wonders where Randy found this blind date. Randy informs her he knows nothing about the stranger as they rush from the cemetery. Malcolm would not harm the lovely woman. Unable to forget Emily, Malcolm is more intrigued when he learns she is a lovely ballerina who can dance on her toes. Emily is going through her own change as she decides to stop dancing and take a break from touring. Soon she senses Malcolm’s presence everywhere, and since the bite mark, her desire increases daily for him. His obsession grows greater for her. When she learns he is a vampire, will she surrender to his charms?
Fixation is a great read. The talents of Mia Cherish and Jacqueline Quaid compose a page-turner of a tale that kept me devoured with each word. I love the realism of Emily and Malcolm and how their story entwines. I also like the fact that Emily is concerned with her brother, Randy, and wants to make sure he is cared for. The story flows at a good pace with secondary characters that blend in well with the main characters. This charming read is like a breath of fresh air, completely enthralling.
