She may never be rich, but Julie Jennings has a job she loves. Being a paramedic gives her the opportunity to really help people in need and also feeds her inner rebel with a daily jolt of adrenaline.
Commander Jacob Carlson pretty much eats, sleeps, and breathes the job, but with one very nasty divorce under his belt, relationships have taken a back seat. However, a gruesome crime scene opens his eyes and his heart to feelings he thought long gone.
For the first time in, well, forever, Jake struggles to keep his head on his job, but he fights a losing battle. Julie sparks a fire in his heart, and despite the fact that she is considerably younger, he cannot stop thinking of her. Unfortunately she has also caught someone else’s eye, someone who is only too eager to claim her as his angel. Jake has never fought so hard to keep a case going when everything is conspiring against him to end it, but he certainly never imagined the agony of it becoming personal.
This story nearly vibrates with tension, and the impending doom will have you on the edge of your seat. The cast of characters is brilliantly depicted, each given both good and bad qualities that really enliven them to the reader. You actually get into the minds of several characters, and not just Jake’s and Julie’s. Final Sin is a real nail biter, and entirely too good to pass up, a true testament to Chelle Cordero’s talent.
