Kitty Bloodworth enjoys the simple things in life: her sun porch, good food, and her husband of 40 plus years. She is a soft-spoken (hmmm…maybe not), church-going, mild-mannered grandma, until she and her family are threatened, then the claws really come out.
The love of Kitty’s life is Jack Bloodworth, who has the uncanny ability of always knowing when his wife is in over her head. The years have been pretty good for Jack and Kitty, but recent developments are endangering their health as well as their happiness, and Jack will never be too old to protect what is his.
The death of Cousin Will Ann has stirred up a hornet’s nest of trouble for Kitty and her family. The police are looking into everyone who might hold a grudge, and unfortunately it is a very long list. Cousin Will Ann was a big woman with an even bigger mouth, and Kitty’s family was a prime target. Kitty circumvents the police investigation with a little snooping of her own, and what she finds puts her directly within the cross hairs of a killer.
Kitty Bloodworth is one granny with guts and gumption. She and Jack are a force to be reckoned with, and a joy to get to know. The plot takes a little while to develop, and is inundated with a variety of medical issues for the main characters, but the end result is worth the read. I adore their love and faith in each other, as well as their love for and faith in their family and friends.
