The time has come for Lucas West to move on with his life, and leave the U.S. Marshals. His brother’s murderer is ready to stand trial, and after that he intends to spend the rest of his days on his ranch.
Michelle Sieck has spent her life trying to make a name for herself in the art world with her photographs. She never imagined that one innocent picture would catapult her into the path of a killer, and on the run for her life.
Lucas made a vow to protect the woman who witnessed his brother’s murder, and despite the fact that he is no longer a marshal, he intends to keep that vow. Only now he has an obstinate and hot-headed photographer to protect as well. Michelle is sick with guilt over the picture she took of Betty Sewell aka Lorry Kennedy. It is her fault that Lorry is again being hunted, and she will do everything in her power to shift the focus of the killer to herself.
This is certainly a PG rated romantic suspense novel; add in a few Bible verses and it could easily be considered a Christian Romance. If that is the intended demographic, it is well suited. However, I found the characters and their dialogue to be entirely too demure for this type of storyline. As for Familiar the cat, he adds a bit of whimsy to the story but not much else. In my opinion this could easily be recommended to any teen reader.
