Royal passion and intrigue abound; goblins have found their way into Breena and the royal couple must stop a madman before their race is decimated. Shay is queen of the Fae-Hunters, while her mate and king, Glen is finally among the people where he belongs. She has a responsibility to her people and risks her own safety to save one of her own.
Formerly living in Sydney, working in an office, Glen had no idea of his faerie heritage, until Shay appeared in his life. He is discovering his newfound powers and exploring the love he has for his queen when goblins threaten Breena. When she is wounded on the battlefield he orders her to remain in the castle and stay safe.
Sending most of the residents to safety, it will be up to Shay and her fellow Fae-Hunters to dispatch the goblins once and for all. But there is a bigger threat in Sydney, one who is capable of crossing the invisible threshold into Breena, and her fellow Fae-Hunter, Miki is still out there with her own agenda.
Opening with a poignant and romantic love scene between Shay and Glen, Faerie Blood soon moves to the battlefield and the vividly depicted shedding of goblin and faerie blood alike. The storyline has plenty of twists and turns to keep this reader guessing. The love story between Shay and Glen is a well presented one with vignettes of tenderness and sensual love play. The battle scenes are intense and the sense of time and place is aptly painted; this reader had no trouble imagining a land of Breena with its magic and mystery, though the travel aspect between Breena and Sydney was a little confounding at times; I did not get a clear picture of how it was achieved. Faerie Blood by Yolanda Sfetsos IS a fine way to pass an afternoon.
