Eye of the Beholder
After a night on the town, Raine hails an automated cab. When the cab hits a pothole and she grabs the seat, she finds a cell phone. To her surprise, there is a small video message of Morgan Montrose, a late night talk show host, and two women having sex. Something strange happens after she views the message, suddenly no one recognizes her. In desperation, she calls Morgan and gets the surprise of her life.
This was a great story, full of depth and believable. It shows the power of people viewing us based on what is on the outside.
Maxwell Lincoln is in a devastating accident with his girlfriend Candace. While she comes out relatively unscathed, he is horribly disfigured. Thinking it for the best, he drives her away. On the day he supposed to go to court to testify about the accident, he smells Candace’s perfume. When he looks for her, he finds a cell phone, which is where the perfume came from. On it, he discovers one message, a small video that shows the last erotic encounter they had. Putting the phone in his pocket, he goes to court and is stunned when people do not cringe. It is only later he discovers why.
Another winner, Ms. Dennis shows the power of love overcoming all obstacles. I enjoyed this story very much.
Both these stories have edge of your seat action! The author does an excellent job of giving you veiled clues that lead up to the finales where two people discover they are meant for each other. The characters are believable and the world building realistic. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys futuristic love stories.
